This sexy beast arrived at my doorstep today.

I finally gots me a silverburst guitar! 2007 Gibson RD. Typical Gibson specs. 24.75" scale, all mahogany everything. Ebony board. Was supposed to have Dirty Fingers pickups but the original owner swapped them out for a JB/Jazz set and the guy I bought it from didn't have the Dirty fingers. No matter, I'll probably put a set of Nitro Hemis in this thing anyway.

I'm absolutely in love with this thing. Being an Ibanez guy I thought I wouldn't like the fat neck, but I actually find it more comfortable than a Wizard neck. Plus the looks. And the silverburst. Oh, the silverburst. Favorite finish ever.

It does have some of the little flaws typical of the Henry J late 200os Gibsons. The fretboard and neck look like they were finished at different times and slapped together. The dots are wonky and the neck joint ain't pretty. But these are all minor things.

I am the third owner now and it does have some buckle rash and a scratch or two. Again, no matter. All character

All in all worth every penny of the $850 I spent to get this thing here. She'll be me E standard workhorse. Now I just need a name....

That's cool, I've never seen this model before. The silverburst 2007 reissue was a limited run of just 400 guitars, pretty rare, nice find!

I totally forgot The Nameless Ghouls use the RD. It's a shame I like my Iceman for D standard more than this.

And well yes, I'll enjoy the carpal tunnel and tendonitis, because trying to get one is clearly smarter than any word you have spoken thus far.

Absolutely gorgeous. I keep my Ibanez ICT700 in D standard, and my Epiphone silverburst Thunderhorse Explorer in E standard as well.

Love love love the RD!
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I was thinking Sylvia, for obvious reasons.

Even with the all mahogany construction the JB is actually almost too bright. I have to turn the tone down to like 6 to take out the shrillness. But once I get there it's really nice. Once my bank account recovers from this one over the summer I'll drop in Lace Nitro Hemis like I said, those things have mids out the ass which I like.

Congrats! I thought about buying one of those when they were new, but 2007 really cleaned me out enough with other limited run guitars and I wanted the RD artist config from the 70's.

Looks like it probably balances pretty well though and it's pretty sharp looking!

Super cool! Is that thing neck heavy?

Nope, just heavy

The body is so large that it's actually pretty well balanced. It kinda looks like it would be but I think even the originals with the 25.5" scale weren't too bad, just the basses.
