I just wonder can i turn my Peavey Classic 30 combo into a cab? as i want to get a micro valve head and run to it, so i dun need to purchase another combo (save some space).

As long as you have a good impedance match, just use the speaker from the C30. Running out of the Micro Valve into the C30 input is not recommended.

you would need to plug it into the speaker, not the amp. i don't remember if it has a speaker jack on it.

you can't put it into the front or in loop.

amp goes into speaker ONLY. NOT through the amp

Oh... I can't see any jack come from the speaker directly, I guess my classic 30 cannot act as a cab. Thx so much.
#5
you can, its just not as convenient. you would have to cut the speaker wires and wire in a jack that would go to just the speakers from the amp. but you would need to have a jack from the classic 30 and would need a speaker cable (not instrument) to go from what head you are using to the speakers.

what are you seeking for from the new amp? they aren't that much more quiet, and classic 30's are easily managed for volume. an extra 1x12" doen't take up that much space. and the speaker in the classic 30's aren't all that great.

I am thinking of blackstar ht 1 or mooer little monster bm. What u think? Budget around 200usd. U have any recommend ?

I think the Blackstar is mediocre as ****. Boring, boring boring boring. Had the HT-5 and I really couldn't turn it up at all. Was in a small house at the time and it didn't take much for the walls to shake. Sent it back the next day.

What you need is a Pod HD and some great headphones. Amp wattage isn't some magic fairy dust that determines volume output. Amplifiers do exactly what their name implies and they're ****ing loud.

Nah, that's arguably a step down from the Classic 30's board. If you want a Blackstar, maybe sell the Classic 30 and buy a Blackstar HT-20 (done some research on that amp, kinda want one myself).

Why do you want a micro tube head to use along with the 30's cab? Seems to be more effort and money compared to just carrying around the 30.

Are you just trying to have a combo and a head/cab? There is not much point to that if you have a good sound with the 30. Volume issues? Use the preamp/master volumes and/or a volume pedal in the effects loop. Need zero volume? Use a small modeler with headphones (pocket POD). Breaking up to late? Crank the preamp and cut the master and/or use a volume pedal in the effects loop. Don't like the sound of the 30? Sell it and get a Blackstar. c:

EDIT: Found it.

Just cut the master volume/use a volume pedal in the fx loop m8. Or get a headphone modeler.

honesty i wouldn't bother. either sell the peavey and get something else, or save up more and get something better.

[trashedlostfdup] No way I can DIY the cable thing, just too dumb.

[Will Lane] May be you are right, "Use a small modeler with headphones (pocket POD) " is my future.

its not hard at all, just sounds like it trying to describe over the internet. you would need to solder four joints though.

i split and ampeg combo into a cab and built a new head shell for the chassis. just snip and solder, it took longer for the soldering iron to heat up than it did to do the joints.
