I'm kinda confused since the rhythm guitar is distorted before the 3:00 mark and the lead that comes in is quite a bit cleaner.

neither are a fuzz though. the rhythm guitar is just a slightly dirty amp hit with an OD-1

I agree, nothing I hear there I can't do with my overdrive pedal plugged into the Fender Champ cranked to about 8 or so. Except for the tremolo parts...don't hear anything I think might be a fuzz or distortion pedal, unless the gain of a distortion pedal is turned way down. I'm not sure either of my distortion pedals would clean up that much...
