Hey guys, I have an upcoming gig next tuesday and I need something to tighten up my signal. Would the Fab Fuzz be good for this (Volume max, gain at 0)? It's the cheapest option I can find in my area unfortunately.
My gear:
Epiphone Les Paul Standard
B.C. Rich Mockingbird ST
Behringer TU300
Danelectro Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive V2
Ibanez WH10V2
Electro-Harmonix LPB-1

Danelectro Fab Delay
Behringer DR600

No, you want an overdrive, not fuzz.

Would it add lots of (unwanted?) fuzz or does it not sound the same as boosting with an overdrive?

Not too familiar with the Dano but generally speaking fuzzes don't clean up well. Check ebay for a Bad Monkey, they're very cheap and will do what you need.

Just to clarify, I'm using it before distortion, if that makes any difference.

You need a pedal that cuts bass - like a tubescreamer type of circuit.

Will a Mooer Blues Crab (or if desperate the Behringer TO100) do? I may have a deal with either of those.

The Blues Crab is a Bluesbreaker clone so it might work ok. Never tried one though so I'll let others comment on that.
Behringer is shit.

bad monkeys are cheap. just get one of those if you are on a tight budget. they will get it done.

if you want to stay with Dano, i would see if you could get the model that is based off of the timmy.

That's getting into clean boost territory. You'll be pushing your distortion pedal harder, so it'll achieve higher gain. You may also get some extra tube breakup. Can't say it'll really tighten anything up, but you'll definitely get a little louder.
