Hi all, I'm looking of selling various bits of my gear to fund a new amp (can be combo or head) that would suit low to medium gain sounds. Looking for something with a rich natural overdrive and good cleans with some breakup, that could take pedals well.

I'd say budget wise £1000 tops and willing to look used too.

EDIT: Should've said it should be powerful enough for gigs with a 4 piece band

i have to agree with orange. an AD30 is a good option, i really like my dual terror, but i think the AD30 would be better.

This. I've always wanted one, but between my marshall, vox, and blackstar I cant justify one anymore haha.

Well I play anything from jazz-metal. But have the higher gain of the spectrum covered, so looking for an amp for clean-blues-rock so this sorta range I guess of tones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asxcXwk354c (also a big Mayer fan if that helps). My main thing I'm looking for is as I said before a rich natural sound - so despite a lower gain sound it still sounds big.

I'm not a massive marshall guy, and Bogner would probably be too expensive (same as Suhr amps, despite my love of all things suhr) atm.

My friend has an AC30vr which sounds great and is cheap. Tbh my Bugera combo still does the job so this isn't a desperate need right now - just want some opinions to search for

EDIT: still not bothered if its a head or cab - although my Zilla is quite bass heavy and would be quite nice to just take a combo to a gig for a change

Couldn't you just create a patch on the POD and create the tone you want that way? It's free.

I understand if you want a separate tube amp for the tone, just throwing it out there.
Guitars:
Jackson Kelly KE3 - MIJ (Distortion/Jazz)
Jackson DKMGT Dinky (EMG 81/85)
ESP E-II Eclipse Custom (JB/'59)
ESP LTD EC-1001FR (EMG 81/60)
Fender MIM Strat

Amps:
Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier Roadster 212
Laney IronHeart IRT-Studio
Peavey Vypyr 30
Peavey ReValver Amp Sims
TOOOO many T.C. Electronic Pedals. . .

He could, but I have yet to play a model that has the dynamics of a nice tube amp.

I am not anti-modeling but mid-gain and edge of breakup are where they lack in my opinion.

Maybe look into the bogner shiva it may be attainable used. I loved the one I played.

^ I'll have to agree any clean or hi-gain amp models sound good, but the mid-gain sounds decent but has no dynamics to the pick attack

There is only one on UK ebay - but it is there.

Edit: Oh, that's actually in California. Still, they will work on 230V so if postage isn't too high I'd still go for it.

Whilst I do really like the pod, it lacks for lower-mid gain stuff imo. And I'll look at the randall, but as this is a future thing for me, obvs won't be able to go for this one.

Thanks for all the replies though
