Hi

I'm going to my school's coffee house tomorrow, with the goal of finding some more people to jam with. However, I don't really know many people. So how should I approach people I don't know and ask them to jam without sounding awkward? I have a couple guys I jam with already, but I'm wanting to find some others.

Thanks

Is there going to be a lot of musos at the coffee house? Is there an open mic going on?
And no, Guitar Hero will not help. Even on expert. Really.

Just be friendly and ask them what they play, or what gear whatever, they'll love to talk about themselves, then if they seem cool, say maybe you'd jam with them sometime.

It's just a come and perform type event, there aren't a lot of musos, but there are some.

Cool.

The easiest ways at these events are:

1. Approach people who have just performed. Tell them you like their stuff and would like to jam sometime.

2. Perform yourself and announce at some point that you're looking for more people to play with. It's an invitation for people to approach you.

3. Approach guy with guitar. Tell them you like their guitar. Wanna jam?
And no, Guitar Hero will not help. Even on expert. Really.
