Beautifully smooth polished modern metal - reminds me a bit of Motorhead, but more sharp and slick. Bass is definitely too low in the mix. Vocal is great, but perhaps a tad too loud, should be blended with the music more. Great song, great lyrics, catchy and lyrical Goblin style!! Fine performances from all instruments. Strong vocal with all the lyrics clear and meaty solid tone. Drums need to be mixed a bit more to the front, which along with a louder bass would add punch to this track. But all the parts are excellent, and song is great too. I would suggest a remix to fully realise the potential of this super pagan metal song,,,,,

This is rad. Definite Motorhead vibe at times, but heavier.

Haha thanks guys!

I've reuploaded it with the drums and bass more in the mix and vocals turned down. Sounds even heavier now!

Motorhead is definitely an influence, you should check out my cover of Ace of Spades:

The production is pretty good, the kick and snare hit quite nicely. I really don't like the bass tone itself though. I can't for certain that it was, but it almost sounds like MIDI distorted bass.

The vocals are well song, song concept is cool.

Check me out pl0x?

Thanks man, my production skills are novice at best so thanks.
The bass is infact Midi through Kontakt 5 Rickenbacker. Intentionally turned up in the VST to sound almost distorted (a stylistic element that Lemmy Kilmister uses).

Drums are EZ Drummer2
Guitars are Guitar Rig5
Vocals are my lungs haha.

Just listening to your track now, will leave a comment on your thread!

HAHA! Never heard of these guys before so thanks!
I was wondering if anyone else was ripping up their vocal chords like this. Might do a cover of these guys when I get some time.

Haha, love this!
Can't get it out of my head now; I am the ****ing Goblin King!

Bass is perhaps a bit prominent for my taste, and the song could be a little bit shorter.

It kicks ass though!

Nice sludgy riffs! The bass tone sounds fat, I think the drums could have a bit more "punch" to them, that'd help carry the riff across a little stronger. The vocals give it a nice stoner rock vibe Catchy song! The chorus sticks pretty well. Would've liked to have heard a guitar solo after the 2nd chorus!

Overall nice work, good song and decent recording! Keep up the good work \m/

Yeah, I'm not wanting to put a solo on the song myself. Waiting until I've sorted making the band out first and letting a lead guitarist rip a new one.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm unsure how to give the drums more punch really.. I'm a novice at best when it comes to mixing.

Will comment on yours now!

This is a beast! I really like the lyrics to this track dude I think its really creative and lyrically fresh! And the chunky guitars sound awesome. I think the only bad thing I can say about this track is the crash cymbals sound a little too tiny at times, not all the time just some parts they seem too tinny. Great track dude!

Nice tune, catchy as hell, definite 80's metal vibe to it. Nice tones. Maybe double track the vocals, they seem a wee bit dry to me. Drum brass section seems a little too loud in the mix. Bass tones are nice. Maybe add some presence to the rhythm guitars?

On the tune itself, I don't have much to criticize, it's a pretty solid 80's style metal track IMO. Two things stuck out, the chorus seems a bit too sing along, i'd have preferred a more aggressive more "AAAAAAAGH I AM BROOOOTAAAAAAL" kind of delivery, Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFYVcz7h3o0

Listen from 40 seconds.

And the song simply begs for a shreddy solo. I kept waiting in anticipation for one during the bridge before the last chorus, felt a bit disappointing when one didnt turn up.

Care to critique?

Haha thanks man!
With the production of the track, I'm a complete novice with production unfortunately. The vocals are double tracked but I'm terrible at mixing.

I wish I could actually do Amon Amarth's vocals. What I'm doing at the moment is something I pretty much stumbled upon when drunkenly imitating James Hetfield's vocals, which then turned into me covering Motorhead. I'm now trying to escape the "He sounds just like Lemmy Kilmister" brand.

The chorus is purposefully sing along like. I have a keen interest in old children's tales and folklore and I read somewhere that Goblins were often used in tales to keep children from doing things they shouldn't. Such as if they wondered off, a goblin might lure them to the land of death.

Sorry about the missing solo also! There will be one once I manage to form the band. All of my material on the soundcloud profile are works in progress.

Will take a listen to your track now! Thanks again for the critique.
