MOSFET LEAD 100.
You will have to buy one used. But I don't think they cost very much.
I had one and I thought it was great.
Got a lot of compliments on my tone when I was gigging with it.

Nothing against solid state amps, but why do you want a solid state Marshall? They are not terribly well know for making fantastic SS amps.....

Best solid state Marshall tone imo is an Orange CR100 :P
Gibson RD Silverburst w/ Lace Dissonant Aggressors (SOLD)
Electra Omega Prime Ceruse
Fender Franken-Jag Bass

Amps and the like:
Laney VH100R

Gojira FX 808

I just prefer the Marshall tone is all.

You will not get the Marshall tone from one of their solid state amps.
Gibson LP Traditional, LP GT, LP Studio, SG Standard x2
Barber Tone Press > EHX Worm >TC Polytune > MXR Custom Badass 78 > EXH Glove > EHX East River Drive > Zoom G3 > TC Spark Mini Booster

Well then what is the tonal difference in your opinion then?

Basically the same difference between most tube and solid state amps. Best case, the solid state just has a different, colder, harder tone to it and the warm, smooth valve amp. Worst case (the MG series for example), the solid state is just a fizz box. The MOSFET is good though, I will agree.

The Bugera 1990 has a Marshall tone for (don't quote me on this) the same price as most Marshall solid states. Doesn't have the big ol' "M" logo but my buddy's was keeping up with my JCM. If I was in the position I'd take the gamble with the Bugera.

The Mode Four is SS (or maybe hybrid ?) and Alex Skolnick used one for a while.

If classic Marshall tone is what you want, you are gonna need some tubes.

MOSFET is the best of the bunch but... it ain't classic Marshall tone.

It's a stereo amp, I don't think it's tube.....

Wait, wrong thing.

Yeah TS, "Marshall" tone is not going to happen with their solid states.

If you are into their SS amps that's one thing but understand that the sound you here on all the albums isn't just result of a nameplate.
I'm just a kickin' and a gougin' in the mud and the blood and the beer.

Nope, but IMO, and IME, it has one of the best SS tones out there (Well except maybe the JC120 if you are only after clean tones).
I gigged with one for 3 - 4 years and for me, it worked quite well.
I would have no problem recommending one for the right person/needs.
Its no 2203 though.

But for the Ops question, its the only answer.

i haven't played the mosfet, but from the clips i just listened to, its not classic marshall, but for somethings it could be halfway shitty for some reasons. just not classic marshall.

Haven't heard any clips. Don't really need to.
In person it actually sounds good for a SS amp.
Clips suck anyway.
But again, I agree, its not that "Classic Marshall" tone.

For the record though, I played mainly 50's - 60's classic rock and country, and basically spanish versions of those styles of music, and a lot of Cumbias and Rancheras music.
Mostly clean with occasional grit.

I guess I was a lot like the OP.
I wanted a stack and I wanted a Marshall.
"Tone" to me was a word printed on one of the knobs on my guitar.
And the music store on the way home from work had the MOSFET, which cost less than the other Marshall stacks.
And the MOSFET LEAD 100 with 2 cabs is what they sold me.
I think in total, I paid $1,000 for it (I think, I could be off on that number).
I had to put it on layaway for like 6 months.
