Hi guys, hoping someone can offer a solution here..

I've recently started using the second channel on my JCM900, and have been using a spare single footswitch I've had lying around for a while. Basically, when I plug this footswitch into the amp, it kills its reverb.

I guess this is because the amp is expecting a TRS double footswitch so a mono single footswitch confuses it and tells it to turn off the reverb. The problem I have is that I've just had a true bypass looper built for my pedalboard, which has an amp channel switch built into it so I can't just buy a different footswitch.

I've emailed the guy who made my looper to ask if the channel switch is using a mono or stereo jack socket. If it's stereo, would I be able to just change the plugs on my cable from mono to stereo and resolve the issue?

To clarify, I want the reverb always on!

Thanks for any input!

Buy a stereo 1/4 plug, cut off old mono plug, solder 1 wire to tip lug, 1 to sleeve lug, leave ring lug open.

That should do it.

Just on the amp end of the cable? Sounds like a nice and easy solution, I like it!

Yep.

Tip is channel, Ring is reverb, Sleeve is ground on that amp so it should work just fine.

I shall aim to test this out tomorrow! I tried adding a 1/4" jack coupler onto my mono lead then using a TRS lead from that to the amp but that disabled the footswitch all together (although the reverb did work) so hopefully your suggestion will do fine

Thanks, I'll post back with an update tomorrow

Does it tend to happen when you're up all night?

I'm too old to be able to stay up all night.

Take that as you will...
