Hi all!

My ME-80 rocks for the extreme metal tones I require. However, I reckon it would sound even better if I sent it straight through a power amp into a PA/cabinet (atm what's essentially happening is that the power amplifier of the shitty practise amp I'm using gets the preamp from the FX unit as well as the amp's own preamp sent to it).

However, my little search on Google wasn't that helpful. I need something affordable (no more than £200), power amp only (ME-80 can't do 4-cable), preferably solid-state (but if there's an affordable tube unit that sounds good let me know).

The tone I'm after is basically like a combination of the Ampeg VH140C SS amp heard on Suffocation, Dying Fetus and Gorguts records, with some characteristics of that modern day Recto/6505 kinda thing.

Thanks!

You could just run it trough an active speaker, assuming it has a cab sim? Or you can use this:

How do you have it setup now? Do you plug the me80 straight into the amp, or do you plug it into the fx loop return? Because if you do it that way, you are actually bypassing the amp's preamp.

Thanks for the suggestion. The ME-80 does have a cab sim, but it's probably the crappiest one out there lmfao . My practice amp has no FX loop, so that's out of the equation. Yes, I am plugging it directly into the amp

Ah. Then you also might be disapointed about the sound of the pedal on its own. It will sound pretty different without the other preamp shaping it.
