I don't know about a single channel but I might buy a 6505 with a better clean channel.

why settle for less? even though you may not use the clean channel much now it may come in handy at some point.

I wouldn't. Little desire for a Peavey and Peavey would probably manufacture it in China.

My 6505+'s clean channel works perfectly fine, and I use it often. I don't think I'd buy an amp with only one channel.

This is kind of like having only one pickup on a guitar. I don't see the point.

Or like some of my old BMX friends running their bikes brakeless. Yeah, that's a thing.

They call that a 6505+.

I use a single pup guitar. The point is that it does what I need for the job that I use it for. It isn't an all rounder; it has a specific task.

Agreed. One of my buddies always tried to justify his brakeless setup by arguing that if he didn't have the option of braking, he wouldn't pussy-out when rolling into something [insert: something stupid]; then he'd become a better rider. On more than one occasion, the obstacle in his path turned out to be a car/truck/dumptruck. Guy is lucky to be alive...

Ummm have you ever used the "clean" channel with the crunch mode on? Soooo good. When I had my 5150 I was constantly basking in the two flavors of destruction at my disposal. Also the crunch mode with modest gain an a tubescreamer in front got some tight aggressive tones that always impressed me.

The only reason to want a lead channel only 6505 would be if it was significantly cheaper. If it costs the same, it's no different than a regular 6505 that never leaves the lead channel.

In the same vain, I wish Engl would put out a half price E530 that doesn't have a clean channel (or a power amp, stereo outs, speaker emulation, and FX loop for that matter) I'd be all over that thing.

Nothing wrong with a guitar that can only do one sound.

Piano for example can only have one sound, yes you say "it's a piano", but that's just something we have culturally ingrained, soundwise it's still one sound at arguably a static volume and noone complains.

Hell an acoustic guitar is basically one pup one channel guitar, even less than a single channel amp.

How about this one, why buy a guitar with a single neck, when you can have 2 neck, one that is 12 string. Seems a waste to buy a guitar with just one neck option.

Oh man, you hit it right on the nose. That sound right there is just heavenly.

if you want single channel and pretty heavy (though much different than a 6505+) i would look into a fryette deliverance, they are pretty badass.
