They're usually like $300 ? or so, and musicians friend has it on sale today for almost half off. around $160, it's a 1 watt tube metal amp. If I were to buy an amp I honestly wouldn't prefer it just be a metal amp. I would prefer something a little more versatile , but seeing how its so cheap, i'm thinking if its worth buying?

Anyone tried one before?

They aren't really a tube amp.
If you like the backstar sound just buy their little digital amp for 60 bucks.

well it has 2 tubes, and i'm only considering it right now. those 60 dollar digital ones sound horrible. I can see them being good for beginners, but they're way to digital sounding

Lots of things have tubes, and aren't really tube amps.

well I don't know why the post became about whether its a real tube amp or not. the fact is it has tubes in it, and I don't really care if it's a real tube amp or a hybrid or a solid state or not, it's half off the original price, and blackstar seems to have a good reputation lately, i've never tried one so I was wondering if anyone had experienced playing one and their thoughts on it.

I had a non-Metal HT-5 head with matching cab. It was bland.

Why's that? Did they own up to their lies and revamp their marketing?

Alright then thanks.. Sometimes that cheap part of me takes over, and even when i'm not fully interested in a product and it goes on sale.. I'm like wow, should I buy it?
