So I have an Ibanez ART200FM and I'm not a fan of the stock pickups. I'm looking to replace them with something that:

  • Has rich warm tone
  • Is not overly saturated
  • Smooth lead sound
  • Responsive. I like to feel like I can shape the sound with my fingers.

For reference, my experience with pickups so far:
I've a Gibson Les Paul Classic with '57 Classics and I'm extremely impressed with them. I would recommend them to myself, if it weren't for the fact that I already have a Les Paul shaped guitar with these pickups, and I want my Ibanez ART200 to have a more contemporary voicing.
I've an Ibanez RGIX20FEQM with EMG 60 (neck) and EMG 81 (bridge). I find them great for high gain metal, not so much for other things. The EMG 81 feels a little too trebely for my tastes.

So what pickups would you recommend for me?

Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz. If you've never tried this combo it's definitely worth a shot. The JB will be a little higher output and have a little more high end, but nothing too crazy. The Jazz is just a sick pickup in the neck position.
