This tune started to ooze out of my head yesterday. It's partially inspired by the movie The Crow and also (and more so) inspired by the loss of a best friend... Critiques? Thoughts?

The Crow

I stepped outside, found a feather in the grass
Black as the sky once the sun goes down
That early morning call rings in my ears
The rain falls from my eyes and hits the ground

I know we'll meet again
I'm not sure where or when
Watching time fly by
Until that day, fly high...

I've seen it perched alone on a telephone wire
Staring down to tell us he's alright
It's almost been two years since he flew away
The crow's carried his soul to another life

I know we'll meet again
I'm not sure where or when
Watching time fly by
Until that day, fly high...

Your lyrics reads great and I think it will sound great.
For which type of music do you write this kind of lyrics?
What about adding a Pre-Chorus it would make the lyrics more awesome I think.
What do you think?

Like most of my lyrics, I write pretty simple acoustic singer-songwriter(ish) stuff. I've had no such like in writing a bridge, I think a pre-chorus could be cool. I'm still smoothing this song out and working on it, so anything's possible! haha

Beautiful. That's the only way I can describe this piece.
If you do something right, no one will know you've done anything at all

Love the lyric but I'd change the name to 'raven' even though that's not what inspired you.....
