what do you guy's think of Swamp Thangs ??...... have some new Celestion V30's with it least 12 hours of playing loud ( maybe more ?) and not very happy with the V30's and thinking of putting some Swamp Thangs in my 2x12 cab ..... the V30's just sound so fizzy on the gain channels with my MK V and my Carvin V3m I can't take it , pretty decent on the cleans but like shit on the gain channels

so Swamp Thangs , ya or nay ??

thanks

the V30's take more than that to get them broken in.

More like 30+ hours at or near gig volumes. Give them a chance. That said, they still might not be what you're looking for. Perhaps try a Swamp Thang paired with one of your V 30s?

I can say that Swamps go very well with Eminence Governors, which are based on V 30s. The Swamps are a little more mid-scooped (not totally scooped though) and low-end heavy, with smooth highs; they compliment the mid-grind of my Governors very well.

are they Mesa V30's or regular V30's? The mesa V30 is a bit different and pairs better with mesa amps in general.

they are not from Mesa , but are new Celestions V30 ..... I figured they were the same , clean is fine with them , but crunch or high gain a fizzy mess I haven't figured out how to dial out .... we do some drop tuning that seem better suited to the Swamp Thangs ( on paper anyway ) ....

Celestion K100 pair really nice with V30's and so does the CL80. they both help add some lows the V30's lack.

The Celestion G12t75 pairs really well also and has more bass than the V30

I love k100's. I have 12 k85's (British) that I love. Both alone and with V30's.

Awesome.

12 hours? I have well-broken-in Vintage 30's and they sound fabu. But 12 hours is still in the training wheels stage for V30's. Call me when you've got about 100 hours on them. The "fizzy" goes away.

Swamp Things are excellent, but I think it's absolutely bonkers to spend money on them when those Vintage 30's are going to be so good when they get broken in.

I hope I am patient enough to get them broke in , another 3 hours loud tonight and still sounding fizzy ..... paired it with a 2x12 cab with G12T tonight so it would not be to harsh on my band mates , don't think I could use the V30's by themselves yet .....

100 hours ??... mercy , I hope they break in before that ...... I think I'm still going to get the Swamp Thangs to try because our Band is now tuned a full step down to D and Drop C which might be a better fit down that low ...... meantime I will try to get these darn V30's broke in

even if you buy the swamp things, you are still going to need to break in the V30's its not that big of a deal, just takes some time, thats all. and its worth it.

for what its worth, i love V30's with both T75's and K85/100's.

i also hate to admit it but i am a celestion snob especially the British models, but i people say its all in my head i have 12 K85's probably another 12 V30's and some T75's as well as some other different models.

I have about 16 loud hours on the V30's now, sounding better but still got the fizzy's on the MK V and V3m ... in a strange twist the V30's are sounding real good on my Hasse modded Carvin VT 50 head , so if nothing else I got a head that sounds good with the V30's even if they don't get better than they are now , which they should
