Hey folks ,
I'm new to the forum. I've been playing guitar for about 3 years now. I can read music and tab, I have a reasonable repertoire. What I do not have is any time spent playing with other musicians. I'm 56 and don't know how to go about finding people with similar experience to form practice /jam group. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Open mic nights, talk to people that play similar music to you.

Worked for me.

Ive got the same issue...
I live in a small town and have little to no experience playing with others. I usually just put on vinyls/mp3s and play along to whats ever playing.

A more in-depth response:

Go to open mic nights, not necessarily to play, but watch a few acts and talk to them, make friends that might know someone who is also look for someone to jam with. some bands are happy letting someone else play along with them even, although you generally need some stage confidence for that.

Just talk to musicians, they tend to know someone looking for someone.
