Poll incoming.

Cliche pick but I have to go with Tupac. "Keep Ya Head Up," "I Ain't Mad At Cha," "Dear Mama" and "I Get Around" are what come to mind.

+1 on Tupac... I have others I prefer personally but if we're gonna say greatest then yeah, him.

Nas comes close though imo

Nas has basically the greatest album ever.
after him, probably eminem.

I mean Biggie had sick flow, one of the best ever, but the rapping isn't super great.
2pac is good but I think a bit overrated.

Speaking in terms of just "rapping," I'd say Eminem in his prime (fight me, MinterMan22 & Thrashtastic15), but he went from crazy good to crazy bad. Jay-Z also used to be really good but is wildly inconsistent. These days, his music is generally shit. Tupac and Biggie are way overrated because they were murdered. How did Dr. Dre make the list? And Snoop Dogg? Lil Wayne is terrible. Kanye's not that good at rapping. Nas is the one that's been the most consistent, but is also overrated as a rapper. He makes some great tunes, and he's great. I recognise his influence and legendary status.

In terms of all of them in their prime, Eminem.
I dunno. I always felt an emotion when I listened to his delivery.

But I don't really listen to rap*

despite not being the marshall mathers lp eminem, there isn't a single track with him featured where he doesn't get the best verse.

recent eminem is crap though :( som great prowess and stuff, but eh

I don't agree with the concept of there being a best "anything" 'cause I'm lame but I'm gonna vote for Jay Z anyway.
#16
Probably Nas. Although Em is my favourite out of those.

As much as I like Kanye's music, he's an average rapper.

Lupe Fiasco is the only rapper I legit listen to anymore. Would probably DOOM again if I cared more.

I've tried Kendrick but I just did not like To Pimp a Butterfly at all.

As someone who doesn't listen to rap at all, I'd have to go with DMX.

To attempt to have intercourse with a hornet's nest is a very bad idea,

Voted UG's worst cross dresser.
Also voted #95 on UG's Top 100 2013. Like it means anything....

Voted for Ye cause he's my favourite out of all of them.

Eminem impresses me the most though, love the stuff he did years ago, although I've liked quite a bit of his more recent stuff too.
'And after a while, you can work on points for style.
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.'

So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.'

I picked Nas because there's a very realistic change of me and my boys doing a track with him within the next year or so.

Kool Keith is my favorite though.
There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.

Nas still puts out great tracks for example 'nasty' but idk how to copy links on my phone lol.

I'm a 52 year old white man so my opinion probably doesn't matter but nobody has a better handle on cadence or is a better wordsmith that Eminem. Brilliant rhymes (even when the words don't really rhyme), an innovator in every sense of the word and mad respect among his fellow rappers despite his skin color. It's pretty difficult to achieve massive commercial success while maintaining street cred.

Slim Shady gets my vote
If you have never checked out the Wood Brothers. Do yourself a favor and look them up. Best. Band. Ever.
