Hello!

I just started a new account on UG, so as you know this is the only forum where I can post my question.

I've been recently listening to recordings that have a very prominent 'acoustic' string sound on the electric guitar, and I was wondering whether you guys have any idea what is the technique of recording/playing/gear used to produce these kinds of sounds.
Here are some examples:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krqpDIx6vSg - Flavour Bud Living - Captain Beefhart
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1VMr29eUeo - The Beatles Cry For A Shadow (The Guitar in the beginning)

Thanks for your attention!
