Hello guys I was planing to buy aj-220. But when I went to my local store the sales guy show me the new pro 1 Ultra.

I tried to play the new pro 1 Ultra easy to play... But I couldn't compare to the other (aj220sce)... Because no stoke with them...

And iam also not satisfied because I watched lot of good reviews about aj220sce. But nothing I found about the new pro 1 Ultra.

If anybody tried please let me know the tone and the other cons and pros

the AJ220 has been around for a lot longer than the pro 1 ultra, and it's very well liked. it's the one i'd get. regarding the sales guy - most of them don't know much about guitars, or only the ones they themselves play, and often recommend the guitar that they get the highest commission on or that the store manager asked them to sell more of.

lots of positive reviews of the AJ220 here

and here are some poor reviews of the pro 1 ultra -

there's also one review on guitarcenter.com where a guy got one with finish issues, exchanged it for one that didn't include the tuner.

I just looked in my Oxford English Dictionary and under "Acoustic Guitar", there was your Avatar and an email address!

The "Pro Ultra I", is going to be somewhat limited tonally, by the ultra light strings, (.010 to .047), the guitar comes with, and is designed for.

By contrast, the AJ-220 will be a bit more of a "Handful" for a beginner.

I'm old school, and I play the strings, "as they're dealt", so to speak. The AJ-220 shouldn't be too hard to master, once a proper setup on the guitar has been done. And that's keeping the "light" strings, (.012 to .053) it will likely be shipped with.

Bear in mind, there is NO ACTUAL PRICE DIFFERENCE between these two guitars!

The AJ-220 is pure acoustic. Buying the same guitar with electronics, would add, (on average, at this price point), about a hundred dollars to the base price .

Here's a link to the "AJ-220-SCE" acoustic electric version: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/epiphone-aj-220sce-acoustic-electric-guitar/423940 Note that it's MAP is $299.95", virtually the same as the Pro 1 Ultra.

I actually think this might be the smartest purchase of the 3, for you.
