i guess this is sort of similar to that one thread that was like "post some songs with <1000 view on youtube" except i don't want there to be be a view limit on this ya know?

post some cool tracks by bands that aren't super well known in their respective scenes.

^ love 'em. Found a copy of The Octopus in HMV and picked it up on a whim (they're a local band so they had a couple of copies)

Have some post-rock/spoken word that embarrasses giants in the genre

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTS-fcL4D8I

and

some math rock/1st wave post rock with fully spoken poems by a guy with a voice like something out of a comic noir novel

The Wave has the most epic guitar riff/bass line contrast ever.

Do you know Adrift For Days? On the same label as them, with a couple of the same members.

RE: Midori, you might like Sax Ruins. Saxophone jazz/hardcore fun

that bass solo was wild

not a big fan of the song tbh, the bass + bass drum hits during the solos got kinda repetitive but they are crazy musicians for sure

The album version is a lot better, nonetheless, none of their live videos are that great. I am always disappointed, but if you listen to CAB 1 it should blow your mind.

This guitar solo is absolutely mind blowing IMO

Ahh, I saw em down in Cali, once in Pomona and again in LA. The LA show was perfect, we got reigned into the VIP section because we were blocking a stairway lol

This was cool and for some reason pretty hilarious, probably just because the music is somewhat ridiculous

The whole album is pretty much like that and has a great concept behind it, but it some how holds itself together really well you should check it out

Here is my favorite jazz fusion progressive rock band CAB
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW8EUg2gP5k

The original drummer dennis chambers isnt in this video, instead you get to hear virgil donati, who is pretty good, but not nearly as good as dennis. This band should be called DAB instead of CAB lol

It's awesome dont get me wrong! But this a musician's music. I cant imagine a person with no musical background, and I mean a person who is either a virtuoso or an aspiring virtuoso, being capable of fully capturing what exactly happens here.
