After 6 weeks of waiting, I finally got the pickup I ordered from Black Water Guitars in Texas.

The wait was worth it. This is the first Elder God he ever sold to a customer, which I thought was pretty cool.

It's a 15.91k, Alnico V humbucker, very clearly voiced for metal. My closest analogue might be a Bare Knuckle War Pig. It's fairly dark and has really grindy heavy low mids while still being articulate. I'm not a huge fan of it for lead stuff, but it's crushing for rhythm. Kind of like Behemoth's Zos Kia Cultus in a pickup, if I had to describe it like that.

Facebook pics aren't working right now, apparently. It looks like a Duncan Nazgul in Active Mount form though.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Well, after a day, I think my only criticism is I find it's not very harmonically rich. Kills for rhythm playing, not my favorite thing for leads ever. A bit too polite up top IMO.
