Traynor Dark Horse.

I´ve wanted one ever since I first layed my eyes on one. Great low watt tube tone.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Will it do Tiny Terror?

IMHO it sounds a lot better. The overdrive is, I´d call it smoother and creamier. The clean tones are great and the "Brit", "Pure" or "USA" switch really makes a difference.

Brit really reaches old Marshall like tones. Pure is brighter than Brit without turning gritty when breaking into chrunch. USA has nice bright cleans that break up nicely when you add gain. Although, the Pure and Brit modes sound best in the high gain territory. Tomorrow I´ll check how well it handles pedals. I could imagine using the USA mode clean and letting one of my overdrive pedals do the rest.

Never seen one of those before, can I have it?

@The Judist - No, you can´t!

So, it doesn´t really like my Bad Monkey. It likes my Dmage Control Womanizer a lot, but then I´ve yet so hear an amp not like that pedal. Tomorrow I´ll bring home some boosters and treble boosters from my rehearsal room to see how well those fare.

A switch from 6V6 to 12 AU7?

My Mercury Magnetics Modded Epi Valve Jr can switch from a 6V6 to an EL84, or it can run both together.

That 12 AU7 puts out 0.8W (they call it 2W "burst", but it's the 0.8W you need to look at). Haven't seen one used that way in a while.

This place has them for $299, marked down from $499, marked down from $649:

I just fell in love!

Vigier Excalibur -> BBE Freq Boost -> Boss GE7 (bass, higher mids and treble boosted) -> Danelectro Corned Beef -> Traynor 6V6 -> 1x12 Cab with EVM 12L speaker.

Sounds exactly like Eddie on VH 1. I can still hardly believe it! This little amp´s a keeper!

The new Marshall DSL 15W heads have 6V6s in them and I prefer the sound over the EL84s in the 40W combo. I don't like the ultra gain in either Marshall, but the classic gain of the 15w is great, especially boosted with a DOD 250 or similar overdrive.

This amp looks great. Curious if it has a similar sound?

you should find a studio 15 to try.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.
