Hey all!

I'm getting a weird problem with my vox ac30c2.

First of all I've had this amp for 3 or 4 years and never had any problems with it. The only thing that is changed is I swapped one of the greenbacks for a weber blue last year.

So the first part happened last week at practice. I set up and start playing normally. After 5 or 10 minutes, the volume drops substantially. Like at 5% of the normal volume. This happens with every channel. The weird part is all the controls are still functionning, the eq, reverb, vibrato et. Even the volume knobs change the volume slightly.

My first reaction was a power amp tube that was blown so yesterday I go and replace them with my backups. Actually to be sure, I changed all the tubes, even the preamp ones. I had a jam coming up so I didn't want to waste too much time troubleshooting

I turn the amp on and everything works perfectly.

an hour and a half later (in the middle of the jam) the same thing happens. So it's clearly not the tubes.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
I'd open up the amp and see if any of the capacitors has blown.
Name's Luca.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

I guess spambots are now capable of reading minds.
