Hi guys. I have a '89 Peavey Signature Vandenberg which is an absolutely outstanding guitar with one of the best necks I've played. However, it has a Kahler Spyder Floyd rose tremolo system, which while does its job brilliantly (tuning is never a issue) I'm finding myself playing my Epiphone SG more as I can quickly change tunings from E to Eb, drop D etc. I don't really use the tremolo that often to be honest and I'm looking at ways to block off the tremolo (either completely or dive only) so I can change tunings. I've looked at the Tremol-no but its double price in UK so looking at alternatives. I don't want to permanently change it so some way of activating it and then letting it go back to standard floating would be good. I have seen oh a Kahler parts site a tremolo blocker which I can get sent across the pond but will have to wait for shipping etc so investigating any DIY ways of doing it.

Any suggestions are welcome!

You can tell if it's eager, because you put your hand down her pants and it feels like a horse eating oats.

Nicest compliment on my looks:

Checked the store and he doesn't have the small clamp version I need.

Would the following be fine, cheaper too:

That's good idea. I'll look into getting a tremol-no but that seems like a great interim fix. I'm guessing this way you would need to block off both sides, dive only would cause the coins to move as the pressure releases?

How about one of these?

At 0.89p it's got to be worth a shot.

Wow. Four bucks? This guy got fleeced.

Yes I block both sides. This way you can't move the trem block either direction. Screwing in the springs would be optional, but i screw it in anyway to tighten it.

Hold onto that Spyder -- it'll be worth money some day.

No plans of getting rid of guitar so Ill be holding on to it! Problem is some screws are rounded so had to saw a slot into them so I'm guessing it will affect value.
