I'm currently trying to build up my gear collection and im trying to find something that will give me a cinematic sound. I want something that sounds like it belongs in a movie trailer. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Some examples of the types of sounds im searching for..

A friend of mine hooked up his bass to an overdrive, delay, and reverb, and a volume pedal, and ended up with some crazy washed trails that sounded like something from Pacific Rim or Inception.

Yeah, pretty much reverb, delay and tremolo get you tones like that. either used clean or with a bit of OD. Flanger and rotary effects can also be cool in that kind of setup.

Consider putting a MIDI rig together.
You can pick up a ton of amazing movie sounds via software synths.

The SG-1 costs a bit and is more of a collectable.

Behringer makes a shitty one.

The one you're after is by Guyatone. The SV2 or SVm5.
