Well in a few weeks i am going on a vacation with my family, my friend is coming with us too... he is a drummer and we have a band (i play guitar). The place we are going to is very small (there are like 200 people in the town) And we were thinking that maybe we could go to the beach at night and jam, i would take my guitar and we would make a improvised drum kit from buckets and pans lol... we would play mostly our songs (Blues, rock). Now i am thinking that on the good side people will hear our songs and maybe stay and listen for a while and we may meet some new people but on the bad side i am afraid that we would look like complete douches xD Should we go for it ? I am a good guitarist (been playing for 5-6 years) and the drummer is good too, but i dont know how will those buckets sound hahahaha. Am i overthinking this ? Thanks !

Yes lol how did you know ?

Username is either Slovene or Croatian and Slovenia doesn't really have any sea-side villages like that so it's bound to be Croatia.

Anyway, I think it could be pretty good if you do it well. I'm assuming you'll be using an acoustic guitar so it should be good as long as you're not really close to some houses, so you don't wake up the people that are trying to sleep.

If nothing else, you might just have a cool jam on the beach.

You wouldn't look like douches you would look like people who play music.

In American culture, some people would think you're a bit of a douche. On the other hand, who cares?

I think what you're planning to do is fine. If it's only a small town of 200 people, its probably one where people know one another quite well and will generally be pretty laid back, so I don't think anybody would mind. They might even enjoy it.

Go for it. I kind of doubt you'd get a bad reception, especially in such a small town.

It's free music at the end of the day. Plus, girls dig that shit!

Go for it. Even if you do look like douches, which you probably won't, you're never going to see those people again anyway. Do it up, mang.

"This might look douchey" is never a good reason to not do anything.
