Hey everyone!

Today I tried out a Friedman Browneye, through a matching cab, and I loved everything about it besides the price tag. Can any of you suggest an amp that will give me a sound like that, but cost a whole lot less? I'm alright with buying used. Thanks!

The Splawn is a much drier and less forgiving amp, though I prefer it, honestly. Any decent modded Marshall can get the Friedman tone. It's not particularly unique. If you absolutely have to have a Friedman, find an old ******* sink mod.

He means 'k*tchen sink' mod.

Not sure why kitchen is still blocked here

I can attest to the Splawns as well. I have a Quick Rod. You can find them used starting at around $1,000. They make some of the best speaker cabs too

Also, Scott Splawn provides superior customer service.

My Splawn gets super saturated and can get that way with any sort of guitar. I use my Godin Radiator mostly now adays because it sounds so smooth and it's so light lately and it can get anywhere from super clean to brutal as all hell.

I also told Scott what I wanted out of my amp, and you could mean something else by dry as well. I wonder how other splawns stack up agains different splawns as well.
