I'll probably hold back a couple of days to see if any glaring problems occur. This may also influence my decision as to whether I clean install or not. On the one hand it should cause less problems later on, but it also means installing all my shit again and that's ****ing painful.

The auto-install program works really well. It took like 20-30 minutes to upgrade to windows 10 and all of my settings/bookmarks/music/notes/programs ect are untouched.

Copied over quite well, And I have about 230gigs of used memory. Didn't take long and wasn't painful!

Drivers, software all still OK?

Software is all working great, I haven't tested any games yet but i'll do that soon

Drivers are all going great too, Two drivers didn't transfer over but they were nonessential and asus already had win10 versions available for download and I was able to get them running without any effort at all

They were an additional mousepad driver(for multi-finger functions)
and some weird audio driver, Not for the speakers but for the eq

I haven't installed that one yet because I don't really care about it and to be honest I think the sound is actually better without it

the xbox one streaming is super cool

There's no input lag, but About every 20 seconds the stream breaks for a split second
I'm guessing that'll get fixed soon

I'll be waiting to hear how all different types of games work on it.
There are a lot of games that get worse/have more incompatibilities on each new OS that comes out.

Don't want to risk making Fallout 3/New Vegas (and any other games) any more unstable than they already are lol.

Also, I like 8.1 a lot anyway.

What's wrong with you? I had to use Vista for work, which made me purposely keep XP until 7 came out.

Installing on one system now, will install on another when finished. Had the beta versions on a test system for quite a while and it's in keeping with the MS modus operandi, every other OS is a pretty good one....

Vista really wasn't that bad. It was just XP with bits nobody wanted thrown in on top.

If you're not a gamer, why do you need a laptop at all?

It's basically got all the functionality of a modern phone, but without the mobile reception.
