Hello everyone, for a long time I have been trying to figure out what Akira Yamaoka uses to get his signature guitar tone. For people who don't know who he is he was the composer for the videogame company ''konami'' which created one of the most popular survival horror franchises called ''silent hill''. Im almost certain its a guitar effect, I just don't know what kind, any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like there's more than one guitar part in each of those- could you tell us if you're looking more for the lead or the rhythm?

There's some delay/reverb being used, plus a bit of light distortion and/or fuzz on one track. Another seemingly has some kind of tremolo effect on it.
Sturgeon's 2nd Law, a.k.a. Sturgeon's Revelation: “Ninety percent of everything is crap.”

Why, yes, I am a lawyer- thanks for asking!

Log off and play yer guitar!

Strap on, tune up, rock out!
