You're going to have to ask a better question than that.

Do you literally just mean the bar? Or do you mean the trem unit itself? What do you mean by "best"? What are you using it for? There are a ton of considerations involved, you can't just buy "the best" trem and put it on "the best" guitar.

OFR, Wilkinson, Gotoh, Kahler tend to make high quality stuff. Guitar manufacturers rarely make their own trem systems. The make and model are usually listed for any quality instrument, and from there you can make an informed determination.

^ Yeah. Also Schaller and (from what I hear, I haven't tried them) Hipshot.

First things first, which type of tremolo? Vintage strat-style, modern 2 point non-locking, double-locking, Bigsby? There are a few other types than that but those are the main ones.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I edited this post, lol.

You're gonna have to be more specific with your question, just like Roc8995 said above.

I'm not sure about these days, but EBMM used to use a rebranded Gotoh Floyd on the Floyd models (they changed to a non-Gotoh a while back).

for me, i prefer only whammy bars machined directly from depleted uranium scooped up from the dirt surrounding interstate rest stops in southern Utah. the quality is superb.
