I'm trying to recreate the fuzz tone at 0:32 in this song: https://youtu.be/Sy_JXPixTRA

I know James gurley used the Jordan boss tone fuzz and I have recently bought the Mahoney buzz tone (a clone of the boss tone which is supposedly most alike to the original) but I can't even really get close to it.
I'm using a vox ac15c1 and an epiphone Sheraton.

Can anyone help me out as to how I can achieve this amazing tone? (Amp settings, other pedals etc)

Much appreciated!

he used an SG primarily which doesn't sound that much like wht you are playing. not sure what amp but guessing not a vox and probably turned up very loud which contributes to the sound.

Yep, Gurley played an SG thru Fender amps mostly and a Boss Tone fuzz. I still have a Boss Tone in my 67 SG case. I was, and still am a fan.

Those guys were very experimental so there could have been a lot of things in the signal path to get that psychedelic 60s sound.
"Your sound is in your hands as much as anything. It's the way you pick, and the way you hold the guitar, more than it is the amp or the guitar you use." -- Stevie Ray Vaughan

"Anybody can play. The note is only 20 percent. The attitude of the motherfucker who plays it is 80 percent." -- Miles Davis

that sounds pretty much like the soundclips for the ehx satisfaction (which is a bosstone minus the clipping diodes and maybe a capacitor IIRC). but if you already have a straight clone it should be fairly straightforward to get that tone. it just sounds like a trebly fuzz to me.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
