Give me some suggestions on how to get a clean 8-bit synth sound using a guitar. So far the best pedals i've tried were the Destroyer setting on the Strymon Mobius (which is way too expensive for me) and the Catalinbread Heliotrope (which had too much fuzz for me, I want something cleaner.)

Devi Ever fuzzes seem to be the go-to 8-bit pedals. Check them out on the YouTubes.

I have it, works great.
I like to combine it with a fuzz or an overdrive with both high and low gain settings. Sounds great.

those still have too much fuzz, are there ones that are cleaner? Or am I pretty much going to have to just use a synth to get a true 8-bit sound
