Hey all,

I've got a jackson dinky with a 4 bolt on neck that'd i'd like to convert to a 3 bolt on for easier fret access. Is this possible? If so how would I go about it?

Might be possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. For one thing, if your body has the same contour around the neck joint as in the picture on the left, there's less body around the bolts than on the 3-bolt version.

More generally, and with more certainty, I'd say that if you have to ask this question you probably don't have a huge amount of guitar building experience, and if you don't have a huge amount of guitar building experience I'd say (to paraphrase someone on here whose identity I can't quite remember) treat the neck joint like a sore cock and don't screw with it. It's pretty much the most important structural element in the guitar.
