I have just put my first layer of paint on my guitar body. I seem to have a funny finish underneath the paint like a glimmer. I have followed all the steps in order. Does anyone know what this is? And also will it polish out when I come to put the lacquer on it and polish it?

Thank you

There was something under the paint that bled through the new coats of paint. Did you take it down to bare wood before you painter it or paint over what was already there?

It was bare wood originally, I sanded it to 400, grain filled it, sanding sealed it, primed it and now painting it. Is there anything I could do maybe?

If it were mine, I'd clear coat it... let it dry/cure then sand if smooth and paint it again. I don't know if your sealer wasn't cured or something but you have something bleeding.
