I tried writing something yesterday in the spirit of Halloween. This spilled out.

The Ghost of Andre Wolfe

To whom it may concern, I pray you never know
A town's dirty secret never told
Sometime back around Nineteen Sixy-Four
Old Andre Wolfe fell dead upon his floor

The farmhouse still stands alone on Chapel Hill
The old folks like to claim that he fell
Legend has that you can hear him still
Seconds before the pin hit the shell

The neighbor kids all play the game
Knock on the door and call his name
Listen for the footsteps limping down the stairs
Watch the window and realize no one's there.

The farmhouse still stands alone on Chapel Hill
The old folks like to claim that he fell
Legend has that you can hear him still
Seconds before the pin hit the shell

The ghost of Andre Wolfe can never tell us what he's seen
The things he'd done or why he left so soon
After all these years, I fear the world may never know
The crimes he'd always hoped would come to be

To whom it may concern, I pray you never know
This town's dirty secret no one's told
Sometime back around Nineteen Sixty-Three
A killer lived among us, but you heard nothing from me...

Wow this is very good. I have made a suggestion below that struck me you can consider or not. They might help to draw the listener in. Good job keep it up.

Come here a whispered tale this old man knows
A tale that most prefer not told
Sometime back around Nineteen Forty-Four
Old Andre Wolfe fell dead upon his floor

That old house still moans on Chapel Hill
Trough it’s broken windows you can hear him still
Because old folks like to claim he fell
Seconds before the pin hit the shell

The kids like to play a dangerous game
Knock on the door and call his name
Listen for the footsteps limping down the stairs
Running when they see the shadows moving there.
