While I was looking for a way to make my greasy hair less greasy, I found this:

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/its-been-one-year-since-i-stopped-washing-my-hair-8213533.html

TL;DR This woman still washes her hair, but only with water.
After a year of doing this, she says her hair feels soft, it's not greasy, it's not dirty, it's manageable, doesn't smell...

It makes sense, we've only recently started washing our hair with shampoo and stuff.
Has anyone tried it?

If you could see what shampoo does to your scalp on an cellular level, you'd stop using it too. I haven't used shampoo for a few years now. I'll use conditioner, sure, but shampoo is just overkill for basic hygiene. My hair's just fine.

I wash my hair twice a week (Monday evening and Thursday evening) and your hair kinda gets used to it

Just touch it less, and wash it less often so your scalp produces less oils to compensate. It'll be hard at first but then you get used to it.

Conditioning is also important. Condition every time you wash.

No.

(I don't actually wash my hair every 12 hours, but if I wash it in the morning it starts feeling weird in the afternoon)

Its true. I haven't washed my hair with shampoo in almost a year and its never been healthier looking.

The 2 months or so before isn't as bad as people make it out to be if you shampoo with 1:1 baking soda:water shaken up, and condition with 1:1 apple cider vinegar:water every 3 days or so.

Saves money on shampoo, and makes your hair better, its a win-win

But the idea is to not wear any product on your hair, just water.

Most of human history has had to do this. It's only recently that we've begun to assault ourselves with caustic pastes.

It's not as effective if you live in a hard water area.
I wash my hair once a week. Scalp is so much healthier now.

For most of human history people didn't have toilet paper. It's why I've gone the all-natural corn cob route.

If you could see what corn cob does to your sphincter on an cellular level, you'd stop using it too.

Washing your hair with water is still washing your hair.

Also if I wash mine with just water for say, ten minutes, it looks like I washed it in oil.
Found that out in jail before I got my bob barker soap/shampoo.

Nope, it's straight and thin.

My curly hair(which stretches below my neckline when pulled) rarely gets oily. I wash my hair maybe twice a week with whatever shampoo and conditioner. Styling my hair I just use water and put it in a ponytail and it's fine all day.

Well, whenever the windows are down in the car my hair is not so fine the rest of the day.

I co-wash (wash with conditioner only) every other day. I may shampoo twice a week but it's usually just once.

@Fat Lard's post

I meant revert to your natural hair color, after the scalp detoxes all those evil chems we've put in them over our lifetimes.

Really though, shampoo/conditioner/etc is for easy earning off schmucks

Just showered, didn't use shampoo.

The hair was super greasy, I hadn't washed it yesterday.
Now it feels a bit greasy (EDIT: can't really say it feels greasy, but feels different) (DOUBLE EDIT: Yeah actually it's a bit greasy, but not much), but doesn't look like it. Blow-dried it, now I have a mohawk (which is nice since the hair always goes flat and it sucks).

I'm still a bit sceptic because there was this time I had to wash my hair with soap and it felt incredibly greasy a few hours after, but I have hope.

EDIT: I just realised I might get fired from work for doing this.

I'll do my best anyway.
