I just bought a used Ibanez ES-335 clone from ebay. It appears to have been all stock but when it arrived the selector switch was broken, so replaced it. At the same time, I swapped out the ceramic magnets in the humbuckers for alnico magnets. When I put it all back together, the sound from each pickup was good but in combination, the output is really weak.

My guess is that the wiring is fine, but I put one of the magnets into the pickup backward, thereby reversing the polarity. Before I pull the thing apart again, can anyone confirm this diagnosis? Also, if that's the problem, does it matter at this point which of the two pickups' magnets I reverse?
