Hi, guys. So, I got a UCA222 USB interface with the UMX250 MIDI controller.

It has two (L/R) input and output ports. How can I record my Bass guitar using this?
Complete noob at recording with interfaces, so pardon my ignorance! When I connect my Bass or Amp to either one of the Input ports, I can't hear anything when I try to monitor.

Please help me out! I'm lost here. Using Reaper to record.

You can't really plug a bass in that, the inputs are expecting a different kind of signal.

If you have an amp with a line out/pre out or however it's called then you can connect that to either of the inputs, but of course then you won't be hearing anything coming out of the amp so you have to monitor the sound from your computer - either you connect something to the outputs of the interface or you use speakers connected to the computer.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

My amp has a Phones and CD/Line In port.
Earlier, when I used to record direct into the PC, I'd use the Phones port. That'll work, right?
Phones->Interface->Laptop?

Yeah, that would work good enough.
You'll need a stereo 1/4" male jack to two mono RCA to connect that tho.
Or even a mono 1/4" jack to one RCA.
