So... i have this problem for awhile, and I am pretty of my preamp tubes being the problem because the volume of the hum changes when being adjusted. So what I did was without turning off the standby, i instead switched the power off instead and quickly turn back on in a split second, and now the hum is gone. Would I still need to change the preamp tubes or is there a problem within the amp itself. I am currently using a peavey xxx 2 stocked with china preamp tubes and sovtek 6l6. Thanks

You'll need to explain your problem a lot better than that, I have no fucking idea what you're on about.

My amp has a really bad hum... and i think it's my preamp tubes because the hum gets louder when i increase the volume... but when i turn off the amp before switching the stand-by off, the hum goes away. Is that the result of me getting new tubes?
