Hi,

I got a Digitech Bad Monkey (Very nice and cheap Tubescreamer Clone with 2-band EQ) via ebay yesterday. The Pedal was screwed up badly by postal service. The massive metal case, board and jacks are perfectly fine, and it works and sounds decent. But the Pots are completely bent over, broken and don't work well anymore. I have to replace them.
Because of the damage I can't do a reliable measurement with a multimeter.
I have already searched the web for a schematic of this pedal or the pot values but found nothing. I could order replacement directly from Digitech but that is expensive and kinda hard from europe. I can get pots which fit the board perfectly for under a buck each in a local electronics shop.
So my question is if anyone knows what pot values I need for this overdrive (ohms, log/linear).
Is there someone who owns a Bad Monkey and is skilled enough for measuring the pots with a multimeter?
I really want to repear this device, even though it cost me only 20 bucks. It sounds really good for my taste.

I hope someone can help me with this!

The values should be 100k lin for the gain, low and high pots, and 100k log for the level.

You should be able to go higher than 100k for the gain pot if you want more.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply!
How do you know these values? Did you measure it? Am I too dumb to search the web?

Unfortunately I don't have one to measure, I came across the layout on the tagboard effects blog not long ago and those are the values stated (along with the option to increase gain if desired).

(I'll see if I can find the link)

Thanks! I also found this page, but i'm not sure if those are the original values.

Gonna write them a message and hope for a reply.
If anyone else has some knowledge to this case, feel free to post it! Every single reply is helpful!

be really careful Digitech boards suck to work on. Their PCB's are thin and they lift traces way to easy.

Thanks. I'll try my best. I have some experience with soldering and never broke a board yet. Well if I do now, i'm gonna really be hating that shitty german postal service..

My huge respect for the DigiTech customer support!
Half a day after I sent them a message, I received an e-mail with the complete schematic and parts list. Those guys are amazing.
@DeadFrazer you were right with your statements, thanks again.
I'd love to attach the file to this post but damn you UG, it is too large ...

I'll post an update when I've - hopefully - repaired it.
