I bought a new Martin d18. Week old to me, I went to have a button put on new strings and adjustments at a different place than purchased. The guy there said it has a crack at the seam,....to me it just seems like the binding just didn't lay perfectly flush.... So it feels a little rough there but not necessarily cracked to me The spot in the pic he was concerned with is is left of the flash where the binding meets the wood. What do you guys think.

There should be no discontinuity in the finish at any seam. I would take it back to the shop you bought if from for a warranty check up.
Take no chances with a new Martin, if something's wrong there it could go much deeper, who knows what the cause is, just the binding or a bracing problem? I would return it for a replacement. And then thank the guy who brought it to your attention!
Can't see to well in the picture but I agree with Tony and skido, take it back and have them look at it. Or replace it.
Get it replaced immediately, Cheers
