Hi! I'm searching for the name/ artist of a song given to me by a friend on a mix cd about 15 years ago. Unfortunately my ipod won't let me remove it, so all I have to go on are the lyrics. I've googled them to no avail, but I thought the UG folks might crack the mystery. Some other useful info:

It's an early emo song from before 2005 (probably recorded 2002-2004) as I was given the CD in late 2004.

Male vocalist
Mostly clean guitar (although multiple overdubs of that guitar)
Lost of ride cymbal used by the drummer.

Lyrics:

And I long to say that I will make things right
but failure is the story of my life
and I love you to much to never sing again
even if my words reflect my pride.

Here I drag around my ego,
though I'm claiming now to let you go.
Searching desperate for attention
seeing nothing else beyond myself.
This is not from me.

And I long to say that I will make things right
but failure is the story of my life
and I love you to much to never sing again
even if my words reflect my pride.

Speak for me

And I long to say that I will make things right
but failure is the story of my life
and I love you to much to never sing again
even if my words reflect my pride.

THANKS!!!
