Hi all,

Been using these chords for the song 'high lonesome' by the gaslight anthem

http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/t/the_gaslight_anthem/high_lonesome_crd.htm

It does say acoustic version, which is fine and all. However whenever I compare it to the live/studio version (not acoustic), the Dminor chord doesn't sound right at all.

Here's the live version I've been comparing too. When the stabs are happening, I can't for the life of me workout which chord is correct (D minor doesn't sound right).

Any advice as to what chord it might be?

Here is two videos that show best what he plays... It appears
To be the Dm from what I can see.... In the one video he appears
To play it in open chords and in the other as a barre chord...

Also, from what I read the tuning is down a half step or whole step..
Are you playing it that way or in standard?

Just trying to help.... Hope these videos do that.

Thanks I appreciate any help at all!!

I've been playing it in Drop D, as I am a powerchord god after all lol.
I agree he does seem to play a D minor barre chord

I've just been doing power chords up and down the bottom 3 strings haha.
From what I can tell it's a very interesting pattern he strums over the D minor, not like the usual stabs (in the second video especially).

In the first video he looks to be playing the chord shapes for A minor, D minor, G major etc. in the positions for a guitar tuned to standard (A minor seems to be on the 5th fret etc.)
However when I play it on my guitar in standard tuning, needs to be down a tone. Must play those chord shapes in D standard tuning. Cheers for the help!!

Definitely a D minor though, depends how he strums the rhythm of it.
