This is something I have been thinking about recently.
DISCLAIMER - I own multiple tube amps and love their sound.

With that said, with the level of amp emulation you can get from software and things like the Kemper and the Axe-FX, Im beginning to think tube amps might become obsolete in the near future.
What are your thoughts on this?

All I want to see is somebody to take Cathbards challenge.

I will always have tube amps. Not much compares to a dimed 1974x or a 5f1.I don't think modeling will touch that.

No because just like car enthusiasts or something similar you're gonna have purists that think the older stuff is better. Sometimes that is infact the case though. A lot bands back in the day used that generation of tech and came up with signature sounds that a lot of guitarists chase to this day. So until a new generation band that's recognized as serious in whatever genre blues, country, rock, metal, funk ETC. Decide to experiment with new age amplifiers and experimental tech no one is gonna buy them because everyone thinks they need a certain amp to achieve a certain sound. Or some people genuinely like the way certain amps sound.

Me for example, I've only ever owned Solid State amps so I find nothing wrong with them. They're quite reliable as well. Though some people are telling me to essentially graduate to tubes because there's apparently a significant difference in tone. It's really up to you and what sounds good to your ears.
