i just sanded the finish off of the back of my gibosn sonex, down to wood, through the filler, what would you recommend to oil the neck with? i have used tung oil before for other necks, but i am unsure if i have more.

Tung or gunstock oil would be my first choices

this may sound dumb, but where do you find gunstock oil? any shot in hell walmart would have it??? haha.

i finished off my tung oil long ago and its harder to find and really expensive.

I don't know if Walmart has it, but you can get it at any Gun/shooter supply. Lots of companies call it Tru-Oil.

You can probably get it at Lowes/Homedepot also

Yeah, I've seen tung oil at Lowes, at least in my area.
Might also be found in stores that specialized in furniture finishing supplies.
Also paint stores like Sherwin Williams.

Walnut oil, tung oil, boiled linseed oil (aka gunstock oil, brand name Tru-Oil) are all examples of polymerizing oils. Essentially wiping varnishes. Minwax makes a good tung-oil finish that should be available at any hardware store that offers paint and furniture finishes. Tru-Oil is available online and from hardware sources.
