How much does it cost the government for someone living in the system from birth to

Death

like a welfare mom gets food stamps ,section 8 housing and raises a few kids. Then as soon as one's old enough to get life in prison for murder he commits first-degree murder and gets life in prison. Free food, shelter clothing I would imagine some kind of medical care for life, not to mention the price of hunting them down and a long drawnout trial. How much does that cost?

As a person who has never physically injured another human being and never intends to I'm just curious.

The "welfare queen mom" is a myth from the Reagan era.

Perpetuated by (usually racist) morons.
My God, it's full of stars!

Sorry, but no. The myth is that there is a preponderance of them, not that they exist at all.

On a cold and grey Chicago mornin', a poor little baby child is born....

In the ghetto (in the ghetto)

And his mumma cries.....

Gonna have to go with this answer. They do exist, but they hardly live the lucrative life that the myth leads people to believe.

Well I'm not an idiot, so you should have known I wasn't speaking in absolutes

But yes, the idea that there is a vast amount of welfare queens (what type of person do most people think of upon hearing this phrase?) sucking up free government money was a definitive political move that has caught on in the mass public opinion.

Over here we call them dole-bludgers, which I guess could be a universal term anyway.

But tbh, they get paid shit, so they live like shit.

In the UK, we call them "coming up next on the Jeremy Kyle show".

The Australian equivalent is "Up next on Today Tonight/A Current Affair"

Do they have lie detectors and DNA tests?

Nah, just interviews of screaming, indigenous people and the rubbish-tip-esque houses they live in.

They don't live in palaces and drive Rolls-Royces, no but there are ways to manipulate and milk the system for everything it is worth.

It's easiest for women with children to ABUSE it or the person who is severely disabled so that you can see it from across the street to just GET it . It is hardest on the person with the hidden illness who cannot get help and has to work anyway to pay for the medication and doctors so that they can go to work and buy more medication and also pay taxes so that the welfare moms can sit on the couch and eat ice cream for breakfast.
