For a while grapplers won the majority but now every fighter is so well-rounded it's pretty even amongst backgrounds giving an advantage.

For example,

C.B. Dolloway (college wrestling background) just got KO'd by Nate Marquardt (striker) and Myles Jury a top 10 LW and dominant wrestler just got dominated by Charles Oliveira in a grappling exchange and submitted by a Guillotine choke a few minutes into the 1st round lol


Good point. Even the strikers get enough ground work in that they aren't completely helpless like they used to be in the old days. Still....the guys with a background in grappling (including Judo, JuJitsu, Sambo, etc) have an edge.
