Hello. I came across this listing of a $460 American Strat in my area. I do not plan to ever buy a strat but I am just curious.

I know very little about strats and I am a little confused. 【・_・?】 I know of two headstocks, the weird one with the curvy font and the nicer looking common one. The common headstock I know of has only one string retainer and has a font near the highest tuning peg, unlike the one in this photo. The first number in the serial is an N which means it's from the 90's? Can someone explain this strat headstock to me please? ( -_・

I don't know how to make the images smaller so I stuffed them in spoilers.

looks like a typical 90s strat headstock to me.

they used different string tree configs over the years to try to help tuning stability.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

Agree with above. That's how they looked.

N means 90's yes, and the 3 next to it makes it a 1993 model.

How you know you have too many guitars...

Apparently once also known as PonyFan #834553.

Just searched 1993 and it does look exactly like this. Thank you! Curiosity satiated. (❀◦‿◦
