I'm a pretty amateur guitar player and I don't have any pedals except for a Wah. I was wondering what pedals you guys would recommend as I have no knowledge about pedals. I play all types of rock, but I like to focus on 00's hard rock like Godsmack. What would be some good distortion pedals for this type of rock? (preferably under $100) Thanks!

need to know what amp you have before recommending distortion options. can't go wrong with a delay.

A distortion pedal will not do you any good if your amp is not capable at all.

Get a new amp first. Then go from there.

New amp, friend. A distortion pedal will not help and will be a waste of money. If you do not/are not able to get a new amp that is okay too. Your amp should be able to simulate those tones, learn the amp a bit better.

MXR phase 90 is a nice pedal. An amp would be the best upgrade at your stage.
