I would like some feed back on these two guitars please. I am just starting out and know only 3 chords. But I like the feel of both of these. I'm going for the Metallica and rock sound but I like most music but jazz and blues. That leads me more towards the Ibanez but I have heard the same sounds out of the Epiphone. Any pro's and cons would be helpful.

i have had a few different Epiphone guitars and think they are very good guitars for their money. I cannot speak on the Ibanez as i have never had any but the Epiphone guitars have always been a solid performer that can be easily upgraded if you ever choose to. If you are looking to save a couple bucks You can check your local used avenues for Epiphone guitars and will very often find a good deal if you don't care about used. If you go the used route just ensure it is bone stock and not beat up.

Every guitar and bass forum I've visited has some people chasing some magical tone that will shoot jizzing unicorns riding on a rainbow out of their amp.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to go with a new one unless I find a great deal.

I have that exact epiphone and I love it. Extremely versatile and the tone is killer. Will do whatever you want. I can't speak for the ibanez though.
